Chapter 1
1) Having nothing but schoolboys on an island I believe wouldn't be too bad. I think it would be a good opportunity  for the boys to bond and get to know one another. A good amount of the boys do not like each other.

2)  I believe that Jack couldn't kill the pig, because he did not have the guts to. He let the free kill go to waste.

3) The chapter is called, "The Sound of the Shell" because the boys have a conch that makes a distinct sound and it is a shell. When the conch makes its "distinct sound" it is meant that there is to be a meeting with all the boys

Chapter 2
1) It is crucial that Jack gets a personal set of rules, so that his "power" does not get abused by him. If Jack were to get into heavy power then it would affect all the boys as a whole.

2) The boys try to create a signal fire. It later on happens to spread and burn up a good portion of the jungle/forest. The main idea of the fire was for the smoke.

3) Piggy's eye-glasses are known as "communal property", because it helped the group as a whole to build the fire. If Piggy was not on the island, the boys would not have a source of heat. The fire is extremely important, because it is what they cook their main source of protein with.

Chapter 3
1) In chapter 3, Ralph and Jack have a lot of conflict over the hunters and the builders. Ralph and Simon are at the beach building shelters, while Jack and the rest of the guys are hunting. The main reason why Ralph is probably roughed up is because he doesn't enjoy building huts all day with little to no use of Simon.

2) In the beginning of chapter 3, Jack is low on the ground hoping to trail a near pig. While he proceeds on his trail, he finds warm droppings and hears faint/dying clatters of the pig's feet. The pig becomes creeped and flees, and Jack heads back to camp.
